Zack Snyder's Trilogy

Image
It is nearly universally accepted that Zack Snyder's Justice League is far superior to the 2017 theatrical version of Justice League . Due to this, many fans (including the Charles Squared team) have been hoping that Warner Bros. will #RestoreTheSnyderverse by producing the two more Justice League films that Zack Snyder had planned. Despite the movement, Warner Bros. currently does not plan on doing so. However, there is a glimmer of hope.     Last week, HBO Max's YouTube channel released a video titled, "Zack Snyder's Justice League Trilogy Trailer." The title gave fans hope, but the trilogy the video referred to turned out to be Man of Steel , Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice , and Zack Snyder's Justice League .      Regardless, Warner Media had to have known what they were doing. One could argue that they were purposefully trying to get a rise out of fans to test the waters and see how much of a demand there really is to complete Zack S...

A New Star Wars Movie Already?

Image
With 2019's Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker , fans of the franchise were lead to believe that the "Star Wars Skywalker Saga" is complete. However, late on March 31 of 2021, Lucasfilm officially announced that a tenth installment to the saga will be arriving in December of 2025. Of course that is a few years down the line, but we already know a few details concerning the plot.     First, you're probably wondering why this film is even happening. It's no secret that The Rise of Skywalker  was not well-received by many fans. That isn't to say it was completely disliked by fans, but Lucasfilm was probably hoping for better with their finale. Thus, we have episode 10 which according to president of Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedy, will "Tie the entire saga together." Kennedy went on to explain, "Each Star Wars trilogy has a beginning, a middle, and an end, but we realized that we really wanted to have an all encompassing ending for the entire Skywa...

Big Week for Heroes

Image
Whether you are a fan of the MCU, the DCEU, or are just a fan of superheroes in general, this is a big week! Friday will see the release of the first episode of the MCU's second TV show, Falcon and the Winter Soldier ,   and the highly anticipated Zack Snyder's Justice League will debut on Thursday.     Falcon and the Winter Soldier  will be the second MCU project to be released for "Phase 4" following the January debut of WandaVision . However, the release order that we are seeing now is not what was initially intended for "Phase 4." Originally, Black Widow  was supposed to be the first title released in "Phase 4," but Marvel Studios' plans were altered due to the widespread closure of movie theaters because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier  was always intended to be the second project in "Phase 4," but had Marvel Studios stuck to the original schedule, it would have been released in August of 2020 foll...

Michael B. Jordan May Become the Next Superman

Image
In a somewhat shocking move, Warner Brothers has recently announced that they will be making another Superman film, but it will not star Henry Cavill ( Man of Steel ). Instead, they intend to reboot the character with an African American lead. Although he has reportedly not signed onto the project yet, it seems that the top choice to dawn the red cape is Black Panther  actor, Michael B. Jordan. What's more is that none other than J.J. Abrams is set to produce the movie.     This will be the first time Superman has been portrayed by an African American actor, but should he sign onto the project, this would not be Michael B. Jordan's first rodeo with race swapped superheroes. The actor also appeared as the typically white Human Torch in 20th Century Fox's 2015 Fantastic Four  movie.     While this is a very exciting announcement for Michael B. Jordan fans and many fans of Superman who are looking for a unique take, this may also be a disap...

Spider-Man 3 Has a Title And It Is Perfect

Image
We have been patiently waiting a long time for the title reveal of the next Spider-Man movie. On Wednesday, February 25, we finally got what we have been waiting for when a video starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon hilariously revealed that the title will be Spider-Man: No Way Home . Now, we can only hope the movie lives up to the hype.     It is unusual for Marvel to hold off on releasing the title of their upcoming movies for so long after announcing it. The most notable instance of holding off on releasing the title was when the title of Avengers: Endgame was not even revealed until the trailer was released. However, it is not uncommon for Marvel to release the titles of their upcoming films many years in advance.     Regardless, we have the title now and it is possibly the darkest title they could have made including "home." That should tell us that although we most likely will experience the same kind of fun that the previous t...

About Gina Carano...

Image

For us here at the Charles Squared Podcast, the series will always hold a special place in our hearts since talking about The Mandalorian  is how we got started. However, the show has come into contact with controversy lately in the form of Gina Carano's (Cara Dune) tweets. In this entry to the Charles Squared Blog, we'll be breaking down what exactly the issue is and what should be taken away from it.     First, let's start by explaining what the issue is. Carano was recently fired from Lucasfilm and the talent agency that represented her due to tweets that some considered to be offensive. However, some have been urging Disney and Lucasfilm to fire Gina Carano months prior to this instance using the hashtag, #fireginacarano. Why all of this fuss though? What did Gina do?...
