Michael B. Jordan May Become the Next Superman

Image
In a somewhat shocking move, Warner Brothers has recently announced that they will be making another Superman film, but it will not star Henry Cavill ( Man of Steel ). Instead, they intend to reboot the character with an African American lead. Although he has reportedly not signed onto the project yet, it seems that the top choice to dawn the red cape is Black Panther  actor, Michael B. Jordan. What's more is that none other than J.J. Abrams is set to produce the movie.     This will be the first time Superman has been portrayed by an African American actor, but should he sign onto the project, this would not be Michael B. Jordan's first rodeo with race swapped superheroes. The actor also appeared as the typically white Human Torch in 20th Century Fox's 2015 Fantastic Four  movie.     While this is a very exciting announcement for Michael B. Jordan fans and many fans of Superman who are looking for a unique take, this may also be a disap...

Spider-Man 3 Has a Title And It Is Perfect

Image
We have been patiently waiting a long time for the title reveal of the next Spider-Man movie. On Wednesday, February 25, we finally got what we have been waiting for when a video starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon hilariously revealed that the title will be Spider-Man: No Way Home . Now, we can only hope the movie lives up to the hype.     It is unusual for Marvel to hold off on releasing the title of their upcoming movies for so long after announcing it. The most notable instance of holding off on releasing the title was when the title of Avengers: Endgame was not even revealed until the trailer was released. However, it is not uncommon for Marvel to release the titles of their upcoming films many years in advance.     Regardless, we have the title now and it is possibly the darkest title they could have made including "home." That should tell us that although we most likely will experience the same kind of fun that the previous t...

About Gina Carano...

Image
Well, it's certainly no secret that almost everyone loves  The Mandalorian . The series is not only adored by fans of the Star Wars  franchise, but critics as well. For us here at the Charles Squared Podcast, the series will always hold a special place in our hearts since talking about The Mandalorian  is how we got started. However, the show has come into contact with controversy lately in the form of Gina Carano's (Cara Dune) tweets. In this entry to the Charles Squared Blog, we'll be breaking down what exactly the issue is and what should be taken away from it.     First, let's start by explaining what the issue is. Carano was recently fired from Lucasfilm and the talent agency that represented her due to tweets that some considered to be offensive. However, some have been urging Disney and Lucasfilm to fire Gina Carano months prior to this instance using the hashtag, #fireginacarano. Why all of this fuss though? What did Gina do?...

Hey Everyone, Welcome to the Charles Squared Blog!  Why did we create a blog? (The podcast wasn't enough??!!) 1) We decided to create a blog as a means of direct communication with listeners to hear what questions, comments, or ideas YOU have for us.  2) Another reason we have created this blog is to respond and relate how we feel about new episodes and content on release day! Our podcast has switched to a bi-weekly format (every other week), and most television shows release weekly. This allows us to share our ideas in a quick, efficient way without making people listen to a 30-minute podcast every time we have an announcement.  3) Finally, we see this blog as an opportunity to create a community between fellow entertainment enthusiasts and superhero fanatics. Giving people a chance to interact with each other is an important part of understanding and breaking down the sometimes confusing plot lines written into these shows.  We hope that this platform benefits ever...
